How it works

Every figure traces
back to a row.

Balances are not stored and adjusted — they are derived from an append-only ledger of orders, fees and transfers. Your cash, your position size, your average cost and your unrealised P&L are each a sum over rows you can list.

That is slower than keeping a running total, and it is the reason a balance on this platform can always be explained rather than merely asserted.

Placing an order

What happens when you trade.

01

Quote

You are shown the current price from the tape, and the order carries that quote with it.

02

Check

The server re-prices against its own tape. If the market has moved beyond tolerance the order is refused rather than filled at a price you did not see.

03

Fill

Cash and position change together inside one transaction, under a lock on your account, so two orders at once cannot both spend the same balance.

04

Record

The order, the fee and the resulting position are written to the ledger and appear in your activity immediately.

Important

The tape is simulated.

Prices on this platform are generated, not sourced from an exchange. They behave like a market — they move, they gap, they mean-revert — but they are not real quotes and no order you place reaches a real venue.
